Summary: Do not Buy!
Comment: This product was a complete waste of money. The digital display melted the first time I use the thermometer. The oven was set to 350 and within 30 minutes it melted.

Summary: works great, looks great
Comment: This is the model that was named a 'best buy' by Cooks Illustrated. Overall it was rated second to the $80 Thermapen, which uses a superior technology. Nonetheless, I found this does everything well and has no faults. I bought this for when I cook at my Mother's house. I have the Thermapen too, which is faster and has a greater temperature range, but the CDN does everything its supposed to, at a $60 savings.

I found it to be fast, easily readable (extra large letters, good contrast) and reliable. I liked that it turns itself off, since some other models don't and just run down the battery. It also allows you to re-calibrate itself in freezing water, so you can be sure it stays accurate.

Summary: Should Have Bought It Sooner!
Comment: This is my first digital thermometer. I wish I'd bought it earlier. It takes so much uncertainty out of trying to read the old non-digital types.

It's improved my cooking since I have a fear of not cooking meat long enough. I had a delicious boneless chicken breast tonight because I checked the temp before the recommended time was up. If I'd cooked it as long as I was supposed to it would have been dry.

I look forward to enjoying my food more since it will be so easy to tell if it's been cooked to a safe temperature.

Summary: Fast, accurate and affordable
Comment: I was in the market for a digital thermometer to replace my old cheap analog, and did some comparison browsing. It seems like there won't be a huge difference between models, so it mainly boils down to price and recommendations.

This "CDN Proaccurate Stainless Digital Thermometer" and the Thermapen were the names that came up the most often. Lots of people championed the cause of both models, but the CDN Proaccurate came with recommendations from both Cook's Illustrated and The America's Test Kitchen. It was also about a third of the price. So that is what I went with.

I have been pleased with my choice, and the CDN Proaccurate has performed exactly as promised. It is accurate, fast, easy to use and reliable. I have used it for temperatures ranging from frozen cocktails to getting yeast started for bread making to hot oil for deep-frying. Every time it has done the job without fail.

So you can spend a lot more and get a digital thermometer that doesn't perform any better, but does anyone really want to do that? Go with the CDN Proaccurate! You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Really instant reading temperature
Comment: Great item for price, simple and good working, really quickly pick up a temperature, easy to operate. Not giving 5 stars just because of very inconvenient storage case, it absolutely could not be hanged, because of heavy head.
