Summary: Great Guitar
Comment: I purchased the guitar for my 8 yr old nephew. The quality is excellent. I was impressed that the strings are steel instead of the usual plastic used in discount store guitars for the same price.

Summary: I should have known better
Comment: The low price should have tipped me off. I purchased this for my 14 year old son, who needs a guitar for lessons at school. He has to leave the instrument in the class, so I wanted one that would not represent a big loss if stolen. Unfortunately, this is not a full size guitar, but closer to half size, which is very small for 14 year old fingers. This is best described as a toy, given the sound and quality of construction.
The product description is misleading. If I had read more of the customer reviews, I would have been warned. I returned the instrument, but was not refunded the cost of shipping, which was more than the guitar itself. If this is intended for anyone over age 6, or anyone who wants a serious start in guitar, do not waste your money on this inferior instrument.

Summary: Good Guitar For Begginers Only
Comment: This is a great guitar for a begginer, if you are an experienced guitar player then this probably won't cut it for you and you are best off buying a more expensive and definitely larger guitar, but for a begginer this is the guitar you should buy, it is cheap, realiable, and it sounds great the only downside is that it should last only a couple years. Just before you buy this make sure you are willing to learn, a guitar is a hard and complex instrument that takes time and effort to learn, I highly encourage you to buy some lesson books for your new guitar since you can't just pick it up and play it (well you can if you know how) [...].

Summary: Fantastic Starter!!!
Comment: I am a guitar instructor and have had a couple kids come in with this guitar. I was nervous seeing the size and thought it couldn't possibly work. But after just a couple short minutes it was tuned and played wonderfully! For thirty dollars this is a sweet deal! Both kids were playing full chords within minutes! I was almost lauging at the other reviews saying it didn't hold tune for more than a day and that it was closer to a toy than a musical instrument. It's thirty dollars!! It's made for kids! Kids don't take care of things so don't spend hundreds of dollars on an instrument that you will catch them standing on, sitting on, jumping on, throwing, hitting friends and family with. This guitar is perfect for a starter! If you're looking for a lifetime investment, you're not going to buy a guitar that comes in a box! But if you have a child age 5 to 9 who wants to learn to play, GET THIS GUITAR!! Don't be concerned that it only stays in tune for a day, most kids mess with the tuners anyway. Plus then they get to learn how to tune it back!! Tah dah a lesson learned! The steel strings won't snap like that other reviewer said. When tuned correctly, they are actually looser than on a full size guitar due to the shorter neck. (this will make sense if you know a thing or two about the guitar) Anyway, this is a heck of a deal for the money!! So, for less money than "Guitar Hero" buy this and get them playing for real!

Summary: it survived a war deployment
Comment: I purchased this little guitar because I was deployed to Iraq and I didnt want to worry if it got destroyed. We needed to change the strings and it needed to be tuned daily,(this took only a few seconds with practice) but it provided hours of entertainment and everybody who played it was happy for the outlet it provided. No special care was taken, it was tossed around and left in the elements but it survived the trip, still playes and now has great setimental value to me. I wouldnt play gigs with it but I would say it is durible enouph for a child and fun enouph for around the camp fire. It is more then a toy but less then an instrument.
