Summary: Not the best, buyer beware...my opinion.
Comment: Once it installed, it worked great. However, to my horror, my machine would barely boot once the software was installed. HP tech support was very good, but, despite every which way from Sunday to uninstall and install the software, delete the temp files, get the software out of the boot start up, etc, etc, the same thing: my computer did not boot up as nearly as fast as it always does. Now, I built my computer from scratch, it is a dual core machine with lots of RAM, and I know a little about this stuff, but I am not an expert. Yet I will say, that this product did not work for me and I am returning it tomorrow. So, you spend the money and take your chances. Now, if I missed something obvious, it is way beyond me, and just disregard this review. Thanks and good luck.

Comment: This printer is pretty good, cheap, and does everything an all-in-one printer should do. Except being a shared printer. I had absolutely no problems sharing an old HP932C (which finally died after seven years of heavy usage). On 2 fresh XP SP3 installs (one for the desktop in which the printer is connected and one on a wireless networked laptop) this printer will not share properly. HP tech support kept telling me how to set up sharing using XP sharing wizard (duh, I already know how to do that from the old printer and I already have shared files set up through my home network). I keep getting a "spooler subsystem app" error everytime I try to print from the laptop, and I have to go into the command line to release the print spooler and start it again. Also, like others have stated, 250-500MB driver installs are asinine. This will probably be the last HP printer for me.

Comment: quick delivery... good product, scans pictures nicely, good copier, only thing is that it squeeks loudly when turned on and used, not sure what to do about that... but it prints well...

Comment: When it works, it's great. Too bad it's completely unreliable. The driver software has tons of bugs:

First, it refuses to work as a shared device - remote PCs cannot print. After 4 hours with tech support they said we don't know what the problem is, contact microsoft. This was with a fresh XP installation. We have permanently unshared this printer.

Second, when a USB stick is plugged in to the PC, the printer is flakey and randomly goes offline. PC reboot required to get it back.

Third, documents sometimes exit the print queue without being printed. Reboot printer and everything is OK again.

Also, ink seems to evaporate overnight.

Our previous printers worked fine in the same network, with the same settings. We will relegate this one to copies and scans, and get a different, working, sharable printer.
