Summary: Very Good Quality
Comment: These are way better quality than the generic brand double edge blades sold at my local stores.

Summary: No Nicks for Novice, Great Product
Comment: I don't usually write reviews, but I had to jump on the Merkur band wagon. I have a thick beard and have struggled with razor bumps and ingrown hairs for years. I have tried tons of pricey balms, lotions, vibrating multi-bladed razors etc. but to little or no avail. Just before I gave up on shaving altogether, I switched to Merkur blades and safety razors.

I opted to go fully retro and use Conk's shave soap with glycerine and a bristle brush. Just previous to the switch I was using a Gillette Mach 3 battery powered vibrating razor (no joke). Having read lot of reviews about going retro, I was very careful and certain I would cut myself for the first week. To my surprise, I have not cut myself once - not one little nick - in over six months of shaving in my new retro way. I still occasionally get razor burn or an ingrown hair, but about 95% less than before. I shave every other day or so, and so far have noticed that the more frequently I shave the fewer problems I have.

The only thing that would make this situation better is if I could find the blades and soap locally so I could avoid the sometimes costly shipping and handling fees.

Summary: Shave like your grandpa did.
Comment: Like most others, I fell for all the hype that convinced me that every couple of years, I had to buy the latest, greatest design in razors. With each new design, the blades got more and more expensive until I realized that it was just a gimmick to get more of my hard earned money. About a year ago, I bought a Merkur razor and have not regretted it. If you are a newbie to this type of razor, you may want to start off slow and make minor changes to your technique. Then, enjoy your smooth shave and think about what to do with the extra money in your pocket.

Summary: Great blades
Comment: I have hard facial hairs (Thanks Dad!!) and after being Gilette user (last used Mac 3), I finally decided to go back to classic style of shaving with Double Edge (DE) razor and blades. Merkur are the first ones I have used after the multi-edge blades and after 4-5 shaves, I am getting closer shaves (w/ no irritation) than by using mutli-edge ones. Also, to get better results, I would recommend a "Badger" brush which really softens the skin before these DE blades with a good heavy razor (Merkur is a good one) can smoothly get your facial stubs. Good luck !!

Summary: Best blades, best price
Comment: This is the second time I have ordered these blades for my husband. He has a very heavy beard and says these are the only razor blades he's ever used that last anywhere near this long, regular blades dull almost right away (sorry he's not here or I'd ask for the details from him, I don't know how long "a long time" is) but at 50, he's tried a lot of blades! He says never buy him anything else again so I guess these are the best!!!!
