Summary: under gun fire
Comment: Used the headset for hearing protection during hunting season. The hearing protection was very good under gun fire. The radio antenna is directional at best. Radio reception was loud and clear for local stations. I would recommend their purchase.

Summary: Back it went...
Comment: Tried this headset and found that 1) it was basically uncomfortable, heavy on the ears and 2) the AM reception was awful. FM stations were OK as was the noise insulation but I wanted to listen to AM as well and this headset can't do that. So.... back it went.

Summary: Peltor 90541
Comment: This unit may be a good for sound retention but it has the worst reception on any of the radios that I have ever owned.I now have just dumped a good amount of cash down the drain. Don't buy this unit. Stan

Summary: Comfortable Hearing Protector, adequate headphones
Comment: This product replaced my previous hearing protector/headphone "solution" that was regular hearing protectors sitting over ear buds in my ears. After a few hours, ouch...
My main goal was MP3 playback rather than radio use, and these fit the bill nicely. They are comfortable, and provide adequate protection for yard work type noise. Audiophile quality, they are not. The radio performance seemed adequate, but I have not tested that as thoroughly as some others here.
One drawback for MP3 playback is that they only provide a pass through, so the MP3 amplifier must drive this headset's speakers. For many small MP3 players, this will drain battery power somewhat quickly. The plus side is that no batteries are required in the headset when used this way.
All in all, I'm pleased with the purchase and would recommend these for the use I described.

Summary: unreliable junk
Comment: Peltor calls these things 'WorkTunes' but they can't stand up to the stress of a construction site. While I like them for the first week while they still work, they never make more than a few months (I have a garage full of broken ones, you would think I would learn my lesson.) Plus reception, especially on the low end of the FM band sucks. I thought the digital tuner would solve that problem but it did not. When you consider that they are not inventing anything new(radio has bee around for 100 years) plus how much they cost, you would think they could make a product that works and last at least 6 months.
