Summary: As good as advertised
Comment: I was given the suggestion of getting one of these by my dental hygienist during a recent visit. So I searched around Amazon for info on the various models and read many reviews, most of which were very positive. The only negatives I recall reading about this model were by some who felt it was noisier and/or has more vibration in the hand than some other Sonicare model they had used previously. Not having experienced any product of this kind before, I'm in no position to make such comparisons, but IMO the level of noise and vibration is quite reasonable. It does take a few uses to get completely accustomed to the experience, but the end result is remarkable. My teeth and gums really do feel much like they do following a checkup at the dentist's office. I only wish I'd found this thing years ago!

Comment: It easy to use, once you read the Manual, but be careful not to push it hard against your teeth and gum. The stem of the brush is "weaker" that its older model. When it comes to noise, yes it is noisier than the previous model. I hope the noise means more effective vibrations that break down the plaque.

Summary: Good Upgrade from prevoius models!
Comment: I have had my previous Sonicare for about 7 years. It has not failed me. I was unhappy with its design, however, and had given it to my husband for many years.
This one is much more sleek and easy to use. There is less of a chance of getting all goopy inside, which was my problem with the old one. Having the sanitizer makes me feel better about my toothbrush and its cleanliness.
If you are using this kind of toothbrush for the first time, it will take some getting used to. But as for other of these types of brushes, this one is super.

Summary: Disfunctional after 10 months, but replaced
Comment: I purchsed this product in January 2008 as a replacement to a much older version of a Sonicare product. It worked well for about 10 months. Then the vibration got weaker and weaker. The battery is charged and it sounds like it's working fine. Now, after 11 months, it does not vibrate at all, even though I can hear the battery working. I'll have to send it back to the manufacturer. This product is far too expensive to have to go through this. I do not recommend purchasing such a high-end toothbrush that has given others similar problems.
UPDATE: I called Philips customer service center, was on the phone for under 5 minutes, and they shipped a whole new unit to me. It arrived within a week. They prepaid a package to return the old unit to them. So while I still am disappointed that the initial product broke, I am very pleased with the ease of replacing it. Philips' customer service department was friendly, efficient, and apologetic.
