Summary: Better the Second Time Around
Comment: Like many people I was attracted to this album after hearing "Mercy". I listened to a few other tracks and hated them. I bought "Mercy" as a download and went on my way.
Then I heard "Stepping Stone" and gave the full album another try. I don't know what changed, but this time around I fell in love. I ended up downloading an additional 7 of the 10 songs on the album. Once on my Sansa (not an Ipod fan. Maybe once there's built in FM....), I played them non stop for at least a month. After a break, they still sound great as they did the first time.
"Rockferry" and "Syrup & Honey" still don't do much for me. In a few weeks, I might give them another shot. Maybe for them, the third time will be the charm.
Granted, overall, Amy Winehouse is probably more talented, but with her implosion, Duffy is a worthy replacement. I look forward to hearing more from her. (BTW, when I first heard the songs on Amy Winehouse's album, I hated them too.)

Summary: Great Effort
Comment:
I was captured by Duffy by initially catching her performance on SNL. I forgot her name and it was awhile before I heard her again and went to her website. Besides being beautiful she has a unique slant on soul. "Stepping Stone", my favorite, is an addictive ballad I can't get enough of.

Summary: Duffy is Delightful!
Comment: Just got Rockferry for Christmas and I love the album. Duffy sings with such emotion and has that 60's kind of voice. She reminds me a lot of some the music from that era. I know because I'm 59. Even an "old" guy like me can appreciate Duffy's music!

Summary: Best in its class
Comment: It's really simple: imagine Amy Winehouse as a blonde , minus the Trainwreck. That's Duffy
Years from now, history will record Winehouse as the one who started the contemporary 60's soul renaissance, but my money's on Duffy as to who defines the genre. This is truly a 5 Star album, but I penalized it by one star for following in Winehouse's wake as opposed to opening new territory. Be anxious to see the Sophomore effort to determine if she's got staying power.

Summary: Ordered for someone else that hasn't used Amazon.com
Comment: I had ordered this cd for a coworker that hadnt ever used Amazon.com and she thought it was great how fast she got it and the quality of the shipping. Awesome job!
