Summary: Everyone needs a Lightroom Book
Comment: I've been using Lightroom 1 for a couple of years and I am pretty good with software. So I just "played around" with it and thought I was getting reasonable use of Lightroom for an amateur photobuff. But after reading this book, I realized I was just scratching the surface. Lightroom is a whole new way of thinking and integrating a workflow into your life is more than just fancy buzzwords.
I won't repeat the other review contents, but I want to emphasis, get this book (or another book like Martin Evening's). You'll get a lot more out of Lightroom that way.

Summary: Mystery Solved
Comment: I have been using Adobe Photoshop for more than a decade. It has been one of the most valuable tools I have ever owned for photography. When Lightroom was released, I was hesitant to pursue it because I didn't feel that anything could work for me as well as photoshop. Well, after reading further review of Lightroom since the release of Lightroom 2, I decided I needed to look in to it. I loved it, but wanted to to get an accelerated understanding of it. Scott Kelby is a wonderful instructor. I have some other books from him previously and he is capable of teaching anyone regardless of skill level. This book, Lightroom 2 for Digital Photographers is very easy to follow. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn Lightroom 2 as another tool in your bag. Learning how to use the catalogs effectively has been one of the major benefits of the book.

Summary: Weighty Item!
Comment: These books are always valuable, but they've become so unwieldy that I think the book should be divided into 3-4 thinner, more manageable volumns and sold in a hard, supportive sleeve. They're charging enough for this that it should last many years before showing significant wear, but it won't.
