Summary: Great phone but with a Major Flaw
Comment: I recently purchased this phone as part of my new contract, on Amazon.
I loved it the 3 days I had this phone after which I realized all that glitters is not gold !!
The battery cover at the back of the phone is where the problem lies. There is supposed to be a small lever located at the back of the phone, pressing which you can release the battery cover. But in my case, the back cover refused to work in sync with this lever,(which in any case is flimsy and is prone to damage sooner). Rather every time I would use the slider function of the phone the back cover would slide off too.
Needless to say, it was very annoying. I spoke to the Motorola customer servc. and they sent me a new back cover, thinking the back cover might be damaged. But the problem persisted. So I am now looking for a new phone. Its no point changing the phone as the lever looks flimsy and in future might get damaged and I don't want to take any chances.
For me this is a major annoyance which won't let me use an other wise nice phone.
Some pros (if you are ready to work with a sliding back cover as well):
1)very clear calls.
2)Being able to customize the shortcut keys.
3)Good pictures and flash, various options in this like -indoor lighting, zoom etc.
4)Good looking phone, nice color.
There is another problem too. The slider part kind of feels a little loose. After the phone is closed you still feel it will slide open. If such was my feeling in 3 days, I am not sure how the phone will handle everyday usage.
Also I guess the phone exterior and screen is prone to scratches, and given the lovely color, any scratch or paint chipped off would be quite evident.
Bottom line:
I would have kept the phone if the back cover was behaving well and promised to do so in future. But from other reviews and my experience it looks like a designing issue. Hope they fix it soon.

Summary: Very happy with this phone!
Comment: I got this phone from Amazon in August and still love it. I love the larger size, slightly heavier weight (than other cell phones), fit, and finish. I have big hands and hate how small some cell phones are. I put an 8 GB memory card in it and it holds tons of songs, pictures, ringtones, etc, with room to spare. The sound quality can't be beat. I hear people loud and clear and they hear me. Paired with a Motorola 700 series Bluetooth headset (from Costco), it works flawlessly. No one ever complains about background noise. The screen size is bright and clear. The camera feature takes decent pictures but its not a true replacement for a digital camera. It will get you by if needed though. Recorded videos have a wave effect if you don't hold the phone steady, but overall great audio recording abilities. I have not used the GPS feature. I only text a few messages per day and it takes some getting used to with the keys. The keys are small metal buttons that you push. After a while you become used to it. I think I would want a full QWERTY keyboard if I did a lot of texting.
The top of the phone is shiny which can lead to it being slippery. The back has a somewhat tacky feel to it. I ended up purchasing a black rubberized grip phone protector that snaps to the front and back of this phone (purchased on Amazon). I wouldn't use the phone without one because it is an expensive phone to drop and I would hate to scratch it!
The phone remains locked if it is in the closed position. This avoids accidentally calling people. To answer it you just slide it open and/or hit the green answer button. The slider has a very solid feel to it. The best way to describe it is that it feels like solid metal pieces compared to plastic pieces of cheaper sliders.
This phone was great when the power goes out because you can shuffle through your music and it has a decent sounding speaker. You can also use the camera "flash", which is really just a bright LED light, as a flashlight if you need one.
Due to the shininess of the front of the phone, I found it easiest to clean off oil and fingerprints by wiping the phone down with a microfiber towel. Battery power is good. If you don't talk a whole lot, it will last you several days. If you talk moderate to a lot and/or listen to music through the speaker, then of course you will have to charge it more often. The phone can be charged over your USB port on your computer. Pick up a car charger for a few bucks and you'll always be able to charge it.
I haven't had any problems with dropped calls through AT&T with this phone which is a big change from my prior Sony Ericson z525a (worst phone ever).
If you want a nice looking solid built phone with great call quality and nice features, then this phone is for you. If you want to text all day long or play a ton of games, then you might want something else.

Summary: Good phone, not same mini USB I'm used to
Comment: Mini-USB is a different size than other m-usb connections. The box comes with an adapter, but keep that in mind before you make the purchase!
Good slider phone, reception is better than my other phone, though you can't help reception when there's nothing to help.
Strong, sturdy, takes good photos. I got it because it has the important aspects of a phone. I don't really need the net capabilities, but 3 G seems pretty good. I got an 8gig microSD to add into the phone to hold more music. It took the phone all day to sync itself with the music. Also, when the phone is full of music, any music-related menu is going to be delayed processing for a while. I think it's just overload of the number of files it's sorting through.
A little bit heavier than my old SLVR. Definitely an upgrade from the slvr

Summary: Slippery Slider
Comment: This trendy looking phone looks great and works wonderfully as long as you're willing to keep the back cover on using some tape. I had to return mine because I couldn't deal with pulling my new phone held together with masking tape out in public ...or private. :-( Both my son and I got the same phone on two different dates and both phones had the same problem. Design problem here? I'm out hunting for another phone that's well put together.

Summary: Does Not work Out of Box
Comment: I have received a Damaged phone , i was not able to put the battery cover. Amazon has replaced the phone . But the same problem with the replacement phone with some exceptions little bit of better than the other one. Seems to be some genuine problem with the phone or may the products with amazon.
The battery life is poor.

This AT&T phone can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T's 3G mobile broadband data network, which is available in most major metropolitan areas. This dual-band 3G phone--WCDMA 850/1900 MHz--makes it possible to enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless multimedia services with speeds up to 3.6 Mbps. It also gives you the advantage of accessing voice and data services at the same time.
With 3G connectivity, you'll be able to access AT&T's Video Share service, which enables you to send a live, one-way video stream to another compatible phone during a standard voice call. The service also allows you to switch the direction of the video stream during the same phone call. (Customers must be in an area served by the company's 3G network and have a Video Share-enabled phone.)
In areas where the 3G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. The MOTO Z9 has a large, brightly colorful 2.4-inch screen with a 240 x 320-pixel resolution and a depth of 262K colors. With the redesigned, more intelligent interface, you'll be able to search for contacts faster and avoid duplicate entries for the same person while allowing contacts to have multiple numbers. The customizable main menu means you're never more than 2 to 3 clicks away from your favorite applications. And text messaging is easier, with the MOTO Z9 recognizing what type of message you are sending.
The innovative CrystalTalk technology automatically accounts for background noise during a call and adjusts the audio quality based on ambient noise conditions to provide the optimal conversational experience. CrystalTalk also reduces the volume of the background noise picked up by the microphone during a call, making it possible to be more easily heard over the phone while in a noisy environment.
The 2-megapixel camera includes an 8x digital zoom and it can automatically snap up to eight new pictures--letting you choose the best image from a complete series of pictures. You can even print photos wirelessly to a Bluetooth-compatible printer with just a few menu selections. It also features a self-timer, free memory space indicator, color effects, night mode for low-light shots, and five shutter sounds (with a silent mode).
The MOTO Z9 is also an impressive video camcorder, providing up to QCIF resolution (176 x 144 pixels). It also gives you the option of choosing the video format, which offers different frame rates--25 fps for MPEG and H263 and 15 fps for WMV and Real. You can record video for as long as you have available space on your MicroSD/MicroSDHC memory card (which offers compatibility with cards up to 8 GB).
This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity, and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and photo printing. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server.
In addition to voice calls, text messaging, and MMS capability, the phone is also compatible with mobile email (POP/IMAP/SMTP) as well as instant messaging (IM) from AIM, Windows Live, and Yahoo!. The embedded iTap predictive text entry technology makes it easier for entering text on handsets--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users. Other features include:
- 45 MB internal memory
- Support for caller groups, multiple numbers per contact, photo ID, and ringer ID
- Polyphonic and MP3 ringtones with vibrate silent mode
- Music format support: MP3, AAC, and WMA (as well as protected WMA-DRM)
