Summary: Great but overpriced
Comment: This lock is great and the extra cable is nice. Best U-lock that I've seen. However, buy it from WalMart for $15. Thats what I did....

Summary: Could be better.
Comment: This i pretty bulky but I was able to mount it in place of my beverage holder. Later I put a rack on the back of my bike and used a strap to hold it place. This thing is heavy, I dropped if from about 2 feet up and the plastic cracked became loose. This is weak. They need to fix that. It still works, but it's annoying. Maybe they'll send me a new one if I complain.
I used this with no problems for about a year now with the security cable. It is worthless if you don't know how to properly use it. I can't tell you how many bikes I see locked up by the front wheel. Also if you've never been robbed, don't wait to get apartment insurance like I did. It's cheap compared to replacing all your stuff. My place had 2 security doors and my apartment had 2 dead bolt locks. Illusion of security... Locks and doors only prevent crimes of opportunity. If someone has the tools, they'll get in. At least they didn't get my bike.

Summary: good at locking bad at mounting
Comment: This lock has worked very well so far with no issues jamming or theft. However, the mounting bracket is getting more and more annoying. When the lock is mounted on the frame, it is basically free to rotate. I tried to wedge the lock up against my bike frame, but during a long ride, it eventually rotates and gets in the way. It is otherwise a good lock to have especially if you carry it in a bag.

Summary: Cable Only Looks Secure
Comment: 11/28/08 - Buyer Beware: I had two bicycles stolen (over $1400 value) from my garage when a thief cut through a related product OnGuard Akita 5080 Bicycle Security Cable (Lock Not Included) in one slice. Looks like they used a chain cutter. Unless you're using this as a theft deterrent or for low value items, don't fool yourself that you're buying security.

Summary: No problems so far!
Comment: I've had this lock for over a month now and overall, it's been a good experience. I haven't had any of the key problems mentioned by some other reviewers (I did notice that the key will not turn smoothly if the lock is loose - so, if you want your key to turn well, make sure that the bar and the U are flush and fully engaged.) The lock is definitely pretty heavy-duty, and excellent for that old trick of "park next to a nicer bike with a cable lock." So far I've not had any problems leaving my bike downtown in a fairly thief-heavy town (Santa Cruz, CA).
The reason I gave four stars, not five, is that the thing is damn heavy. And, if you're like me and your bike is teeny because you're teeny - well, there's nowhere to mount the holder on your bike, because it WILL interfere with your movement. I can't even fit in on the seatpost! So, to other small bicyclists, be warned: This thing is not so comfy to carry in a backpack.
