Summary: Good for long term too
Comment: I've been using this system since Dec 7 as a trial period before I snowbird it to Florida for two months. It performs superbly, even better than when I watered the plant. I am using it on my 7 ft ficus in a 14 inch pot. I am using only two of the three cones as three provided too much water. I was using two 1-gallon jugs at first and then switched over to a 10 gallon fish tank filled with 5 gallons of water. I'm quite certain this setup will keep the plant (tree) sufficiently watered. Off to Florida now.

Summary: Perfect item for someone not good about watering plants
Comment: Easy to follow instructions. They have been working great for me. Now I don't have to worry that I'm not watering my plants enough. I have these in a couple of my plants and now all I have to do is keep an eye on the water containers next to the plants and when they're low I just top them off.

Comment: I recently purchased this item because I have several sensitive plants that would need watering while I was away for 10 days. It was a last minute purchase, and the package arrived the day before I was to leave--there was no time for a "practice run". I followed the directions carefully, and I am delighted to say--this PRODUCT WORKS!!! My plants actually thrived while I was gone, one was sprouting new growth, and I am tempted to use the sensors all of the time!

Summary: My plants did just fine while I was on vacation!
Comment: I decided to leave a review as the last person obviously never purchased this product and yet rated it low based on calling the company. It works very simply, by drawing water out of any container you decide to use, through a tiny hose that connects to the little ceramic spike that you put in the soil, and slowly keeps your plants watered while you are away. I was going on vacation for a week and bought them for my plants. I made sure they were working a full week before I left and they kept the soil nice and hydrated. When I came back from my trip my plants were healthy and looked better than when I watered them myself. Actually I continue to use them now, and just fill the water containers every two weeks or so, it makes it much easier than the daily/weekly schedule I used to have. I don't have to worry about forgetting anymore, my plants are happy! :)

Comment: This does just what it says it will. Just follow the instructions and it will keep plants watered for weeks. It delivers just the right amount of water and cannot overflow. It's best to open the package and unroll the tubes a few days before you use them the first time. We just use gallon jugs of water for the source.
