Comment: On the subject of the optional TomTom charger, if you're traveling abroad (as we often do) connecting your TomTom to a laptop might not be convenient, and you dare not leave your TomTom in the car to charge, so having a charger with the appropriate adapters will allow you to charge your TomTom in your hotel room (perhaps at night while you sleep). I have to agree with "Robert Joseph Martinez Jr. "D70S Guy", these options are not necessarily meant to deceive but rather to simply offer more choices depending on your situation...

Comment: Very well thought out product.
The cord seperates from the body of the charger to allow you to hook up to your computer. The power adapters are a nice touch if you are in europe. Works fine and lets me keep tomtom charged up and NOT in my car.
