Comment: Your gear will run like new using this line lump. I don't understand why I should have a line lump when they could've put the transformer inside the instrument. I suppose it cuts costs, but why cut costs in the pro audio market?

Summary: PA-5D Adapter THE RIGHT Replacement for the Yamaha RX-7
Comment: It still amazes me how people somehow do not have the power adapter when selling a unit that requires one! How can you not have or lose a vital part of an electronic unit such as it's power supply?? Anyway, I recently purchased on ebay a Yamaha RX-7 as a back up for mine which I have been using since 1988. You guessed it, the seller did not have the original AC adapter which was the PA-1210. Instead he sent with a much smaller adapter claiming it worked fine with the RX-7. Yeah, the unit turned on and made some sounds, but it could not FULLY function properly. After unsuccessfully locating a PA-1210 (no longer made), I contacted Yamaha support and finally talked to one guy who has been there for MANY years. He researched the proplem and instructed me to purchase the newer PA-5D AC Adapter. I looked on line and got a decent deal . It WORKS PERFECTLY!! I was also told to not use the next one up because it has a 2 amp rating. The Original PA-1210 was only 1 amp. Though many "know it all" experts working in a certain MEGA music store tried desperately to sell me a SUPER HIGH priced "NO NAME-made in China" replacement adapter, I was again advised by the wise man at Yamaha that the SUPER HIGH priced adapter was 2 amp and I should avoid that. I have been using the PA-5D reguraly now for over 8 months with my RX-7 Rhythm Programmer (DRUM MACHINE) and ALL IS PERFECT!! THE Yamaha PA-5D IS the RIGHT and PROPER REPLACEMENT for the old PA-1210 adapter!!

Comment: This adaptor replaces a much larger and bulky one that powered my Yamaha keyboard and synthesizer. I found the replacement adaptor to be very difficult in locating at retailors and other on line sites, however Amazon came through. The PA-5D power adapter is convenient, small and provides the same necessay power requirements as the much larger unit. Service through Amazon was very exceptional and arrived within a week.

Comment: but sent this item back because of the CAPROP65 WARNING emailed to me by Amazon after it shipped.....I suspect I have a lot of CAPROP65 items in my home that I do not know about... but I don't need to add another.

Comment: I recently purchased a Yamaha PA-5D Power Adaptor for my keyboard and it works perfectly. My keyboard is an older model and after much searching I found the new product that would make my keys play again. I am satisfied that this power adaptor is the best for my use.
